EAGLE LETTER RECOGNITION LIST

The following information is provided as a help. You are welcome to copy and share this with others, but you may NOT charge, as this is provided to you without charge. This list contains the names and addresses (and fax) to prominent US  leaders or groups that may, or will send letters or certificates of congratulations to new Eagle Scouts. Be sure to send a request to your STATE Representative or Assemblyman, U.S. Congressman, U.S. Senators, Mayor, City Council members, County leaders, etc., as many of these will send nice letters.

Expect a delay in requests to Washington D.C. as mail sent to government officials and agencies are still being processed for Anthrax decontamination. You may want to FAX.

To identify your Senator or Congressman, see this web page: http://www.congressmerge.com.

PLEASE DO NOT send request to NASA, the CIA, or U.S. Supreme Court justices as they have asked to be removed from this and similar lists.

If you identify additional individuals or groups who will send letters or certificates, please send the information to:

mailto: tom@statenislandeagle.org

Marine Corps League

For the Eagle Court of Honor Committee's, the Marine Corps League presents an "Good Citizenship Award" and the US Army presents a "Youth Certificate of Recognition" upon request. Both applications are available for you to download. Both will also have an individual present at the Court of Honor to present the awards if they are requested to and enough lead time is given.

United States Army

U.S. Army Youth Certificate of RecognitionThe U.S. Army's Youth Certificates of Recognition are awarded to young men and women who demonstrate qualities that the U.S. Army values. Among those qualities are Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless service, Honesty, Integrity and Personal courage--qualities that mean leadership for the world's finest Army.

The majority of U.S. Army's Youth Certificates of Recognition are awarded to America's Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts because Scouts' values are closely aligned with Army values. Boy Scouts are entitled to receive the Certificate of Recognition upon achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. Girl Scouts are entitled to receive the Certificates upon receiving the Gold Award. We value our Eagle Scouts and Girl Scout Gold Award recipients, and are pleased to offer them an opportunity to join the Army at an advanced rank in recognition of their accomplishments.

Scout leaders may nominate their Eagle Scouts for this award by: from the Forms Home Page
